During week 4 of school we decided to study the autumnal equinox on the actual day. I arranged our schedule so that we could get all of our other work done and still spend this entire day outside. The kids loved running around the park, it turned out to be a beautiful day!
We started the day with some sauteed apples and oatmeal then we packed up and went to Moore Park. The Autumn color is amazing there and it was an excellent place to spend the day discussing how the earth moves around the sun, what animals do to prepare for winter, how leaves change their color and store energy, and to collect some beautiful treasures!
