Grandma Visit

Mom came to visit us in Ames. Riley has been practicing her sewing and Mom offered to teach her how to make scrunchies. Riley did the cutting, sewing, and turning inside out but had help putting in the elastic and hand stitching them closed. Mom took the kids and I to breakfast at The Cafe and we had a campfire in the backyard. It was a fun visit and we look forward to another one soon!

Pictures from our campfire in the backyard!

I am obsessed with all things that grow and love to get pictures of the flowers and pollinators!

The kids and I plant a zinnia patch every year

July 4th in Marion

There was a lot of food, family, and fun!  We went swimming, had a campfire dinner, and enjoyed our own private firework show that was put on by the neighbors. We swam right up until the fireworks started. Then we sat on blankets to watch the fireworks and eat s'mores! A lot of great memories were made!
