The kids helped to clean up the leaves in the yard

All of the kids had a bucket and were helping to clean up leaves and squish them in the compost bin. We raked them up so that they could jump off of the swings into the piles first though!

Thanksgiving

Riley, August and Nora got it in their head to go play football and went to the front yard and played for a long time.

The Phantom Tollbooth: Book 3 of Language Arts

We had the most fun working on all the projects to go with reading The Phantom Tollbooth. It had a 3-D map project that you construct as you get to the the different places in the book. We made the characters that go on the journey and the kids acted out the book over and over when we were all done. At the end we had a word party like the feast in Dictionopolis in the book. It was so fun and sometimes the kids still ask to do it again.

Nora Turns 4

Nora's Birthday: October 21, 2020

Our baby turned 4. She doesn't let me call her my baby anymore but I may call her my little girl. We had a great time on her birthday. We started our day with birthday pancakes!

She likes to sing and dance, snuggle and read books, do double cheek kisses and help out with anything.

October Snowfall and Tea Party

 Tea Party

Sometimes we have lunch as a tea party and read poetry. My favorite book so far has been this nature poetry book that has a poem for each day. On this day Riley set up a tiny table next to us with a favorite toy of hers that she calls penguiny.

October Snowfall

The kids were enchanted by this snow and spent a lot of time just walking around in it. Riley collected as much as she could and finally built a tiny snowman!
