Christmas 2019

Christmas in Ottumwa

She loved these antlers and wore them all day!

Liam is teaching August how to draw cars.

 Ames Christmas

We started the morning with stockings then enjoyed some gluten free raspberry kolaches and bacon. After breakfast the kids opened their gifts and Keenan and I read our letters to each other.  Christmas was very warm and initially the kids were confused about the lack of snow. They spent most of the day riding bikes, without the need for a coat!

Punky likes to be included

November and December 2019

Fun with Snow: Nov 11th

We had about 5 inches of snow then it got cold the next day so I brought the fun in every day until it melted! They loved it. They would play with little people in the snow and also pretend to make food items out of the snow.

Gingerbread Houses: Dec 8th

I love this tradition! My Mom always made my sister and I gingerbread houses. I love making them for our kids and have now adapted it to be gluten free.  The kids had an amazing time decorating and eating more candy than normal!

We decorated sugar cookies the following weekend and they spent a lot of time on this. I thought they would have gotten bored but I made many colors and they worked carefully like each one was going into a museum. It was a fun way to spend a morning with them! I didn't take any pictures that day. I was really enjoying just spending time with them!

Family Pictures

Moore Park: October 26, 2019

We had a lot of fun taking these pictures! It was a very wet fall and I wasn't sure we were going to get it done. This turned out to be a very beautiful evening!

Happy Halloween 2019

 Carving Pumpkins

They each made a drawing and helped to scoop out the pumpkins while I did the carving based on the drawing.
Want some!

Main Street Trick or Treat: October 25

Just August and Nora did this because it takes place during school hours. It was a beautiful day and they had a great time visiting many of the businesses while dressed as batman and a dinosaur! We even got to see Daddy while he was stopping at the bank on Main Street! It made Batman and the Dinosaurs day!

Getting to eat a piece of candy before going home for nap!
Somerset Trick or Treat:  October 28th

All of the kids had a great time walking around the Somerset area for trick or treat!  Riley dressed up as a park ranger. She still loves being a junior park ranger!  August dressed up as Batman and Nora wanted to be a dinosaur again. Grandma Nancy was up visiting for the day and got to go too! It was chilly but it wasn't snowing and we tried to wear layers.

Nora is 3!

We are so happy to have the opportunity to get to know Nora and to love her!  She is a such a fun and happy girl. I love hearing her deep belly laugh (When she laughs really hard she burps and keeps laughing)! She loves reading, snuggling, swinging and trying anything she sees her older siblings doing.  She has been a bit of a food thief at times, so if there are bites out of apples in the fruit bowl it was likely her.  She has also colored on more items in the house than the other two kids combined. I wouldn't change anything about her though and can't wait to see what the next year brings!  May time slow down.

Until next time!
